Disney Scrapbook Kits

17th March, 2009 - Posted by admin - 1 Comment

Adults and children alike all over the word love Disney characters and a Disney scrapbook is a wonderful project to include your children in. Do you like disney scrapbook albums and want to start one, but you aren’t too sure where to start?  Are you worried that you do not really know how to create one that looks good?

Well don’t panic too much as there is an easy and effective solution to this dilemma.   The easiest thing to do if you are really worried about your own abilities is you could consider Disney Premade Scrapbook Pages and kits. These pages are super simple as they are premade using disney characters and save you a lot of time and effort.
These premade pages and kits are also a huge hit with children as they are available in all the popular Disney themes like Mickey Mouse and Friends, Winnie the Pooh, Disney Princesses, The Little Mermaid, Cinderella and many others as well.

A great thing to do with your child is to collect up some of their favorite photos, whether that be some school photos, holiday snaps, an actual Disneyland vacation or just their personal favorites and then set about working out what theme they would like to go with. This will of course depend on whether you are working with a son or daughter but either way the results will be stunning.

There are many reputable online stores that you can browse together with your child and let them work out which theme they would like and then you can select the appropriate kit for the premade pages.  Some of these kits include everything you will need, from the album to the paper, to the stickers and embellishments.  So just carefully read what the kit includes before you buy it, don’t go on what the pictures alone show, as you may need to buy some additional supplies at the same time.

Using this method can be much quicker and much more enjoyable especially when younger children are involved.  It takes the stress out of the project and leaves you free to enjoy the time with your child, not only will you create a wonderful keepsake but the actual memories of making it together will be treasured as well.  Also consider having someone take a photo of you and your child working on your special project together and adding that photo to your Disney scrapbook as well, what a special memory.

What You Will Need For Creating A Disney Scrapbook

26th February, 2009 - Posted by admin - 1 Comment

Creating a Disney scrapbook is one of the most enjoyable and fun projects you can choose to undertake.  They are so easy to put together and the great thing is that they are just so many wonderful Disney supplies and embellishments that really you simply can’t go wrong.  It’s one of those albums that you don’t years of experience under your belt to be able to create truly beautiful keepsake to be enjoyed and loved over the years.

The first thing you will need is an album and let me tell you, the choices of albums are many.  The first thing to work out will be what size album you would like, most people go for a 12×12 inch post bound album, but you can choose an 8×8, 8½x11 and a few other sizes too.

Personally I like the 12×12 inch sizes, that is the size a lot of the scrapbook papers come in and it is a better size to fit and position your photos on.  You can choose a plain album or go with a beautiful Disney album to suit your theme, but the choice is yours and doesn’t matter too much.

Other supplies you are going to want to collect, will be Disney papers, Disney stickers and die cuts, other assorted embellishments that will suit what is happening in the photos you are using, glue or double sided tape to adhere your photos and photos mats and pens for your journaling.

Other items to consider would be things like Disney stamps, decorative edge scissors, embossing powders and pigment ink, and decorative lettering for your pages as well. I could continue with this list but I would prefer to keep it fairly simple and not get into supplies that require special techniques and skills.  If we keep it simple, anyone can do it and enjoy it without the stress of learning how to do it.

One thing to remember with any scrapbooking is that you must make sure any materials and supplies you use are acid and lignum free.  Both acid and lignum over the years can eat into and damage your precious photos, and after many hours of creating a wonderful keepsake the last thing you want is for it to be destroyed all because you used the wrong glue or paper in your album. disney-idea-book1

If you buy your products from a scrapbook store, you should be safe, always feel free to ask.  And if you buy your glue elsewhere, just check that it says, photo safe, on the packaging.

There are quite a few glue sticks that are used around home and at school that are in fact photo safe, you just have to read the packaging, if in doubt, don’t use it.

Disney Scrapbook With Winnie The Pooh

19th February, 2009 - Posted by admin - 2 Comments

disney-baby-pooh-stickers1 Everyone should have a Disney Scrapbook and what better character than Winnie the Pooh?  I personally love all the Disney characters, and Pooh and Tigger are a really great theme to carry through a whole album.

Winnie the Pooh is an age old favourite for young and old, and basically they are characters that everyone is familiar with.  I think we all grew up with Pooh and Tigger stories and books, so progressing on to scrapbooking is just kind of a natural step.

There are so many great albums, papers and embellishments for the Winnie the Pooh theme that really you just can’t go wrong.

It’s a great theme for any age, but I do particularly like it for younger children, babies and toddlers.  Don’t get me wrong, adult Winnie the Pooh albums are fantastic too, but often it really suits scrapbooking baby albums.  All those cute cuddly characters mixed in with gorgeous baby photos, what could be more perfect?

Go on, start one today, like I said everyone should have a Disney Scrapbook, they are just so adorable and everyone will want to look through it and admire your beautiful work.

Many thanks to Express Monorail (Joe) for the beautiful image.

Disney Scrapbook project with your kids

12th February, 2009 - Posted by admin - 3 Comments

Creating a scrapbook full of photos and memories is just so much fun, and kids especially love being part of creating a beautiful Disney scrapbook album.  So why not encourage them to help you and include them into the whole design and theme of the album?  You will be surprised at the ideas and suggestions they will have if you just let them be part of it and contribute to the whole project.

I would let your child go through the photos and chose which ones they want to use for the project, it will depend how many photos they select, but it may be an actual trip to Disneyland or the holidays, Christmas, a birthday or a whole year in their life.  Your child’s age, gender and preferences will decide which Disney characters or theme the Disney scrapbook album takes on.

If your child is a girl it might be the Disney Princesses, a boy might go for a Cars theme, a younger child might prefer a Winnie The Pooh theme, older children might prefer the actual Mickey and Friends characters.  Remember when we say a Disney Scrapbook, that can mean many things, it can be about Disneyland or not and it can be any number of characters, Disney has so many to choose from.

Just some of the Disney characters are Mickey Mouse and Friends, Winnie The Pooh, Lilo and Stitch, Toy Story, A Bug’s Life, Chip n Dale, The Lion King, Monsters Inc, The Incredibles, Tarzan, WALL-E, Bolt and Cars.  That is only some of them, I will try to compile a list of all of the ones I know of and list them on here for everyone who might be interested.

It depends of course on your budget and whether you already have the supplies you need or if you are about to purchase them.  But if you do not have the album or supplies yet, then let your child chose the theme, which will include the actual Disney scrapbook album, the characters they would prefer, some stickers and embellishments  and perhaps some of the paper and cardstock.

If you are already into scrapbooking then I image you will have all the other necessary items and supplies to start creating wonderful layouts for your Disney scrapbook.  One suggestion here is that I would recommend you having some say over the colors of the cardstock and papers, this does depend on the age of the child, but sometimes a bit of adult help with which colors go well together doesn’t go astray.

Next it is just a matter of sitting down with them and helping them create a fantastic Disney scrapbook that will be treasured now and in many years to come.  The level of assistance you will need to give your child will of course depend again on their age and ability.

But it really is such a wonderful thing to do if your child is interested in it, as it will be quality time together and you will be teaching them a new craft, just like your mom taught you a craft or skill when you were young.  It will be a memory your child will always have of that time you helped them to make a Disney scrapbook.

Disney Digital Scrapbook Stuff..?

5th February, 2009 - Posted by admin - 4 Comments

A Disney Scrapbook reader Ask for some help.

Quote “I’m trying to do a digital Disney scrapbook from our trip to Disney World this year, we are a little short on money and I’d just like to know if there is anywhere that might have some free stuff.  I see free scrapping stuff everywhere online!  But never really any Disney things.”

My Advice

Disney products are predominately all covered by copyright and strict licensing policies so I think you will be hard pressed to find any free Disney Scrapbook graphics on the internet.  It is a little hard with all the strict licensing issues.  Use the contact form above if you like and I might be able to come up with a couple of other suggestions for you as well ;)

Disney Scrapbook for 2005

29th January, 2009 - Posted by admin - 2 Comments

A Disney Scrapbook reader Ask for some help.

Quote “I need Desperate help!  My family and I went on a Disney trip the years of 2000, 2004, 2005, and 2007.  Now we were not into scrapbooking but got the essentials just in case. But for some very very odd reason we did not get a Scrapbook for 2005 Walt Disney World Florida.  Now, I am getting to be really mad because every weekend my daughter and I do quality time and look back at the memories of the years, but we have scrapbook pages and no scrapbook itself.  The reason why I am mad is because when ever I look it up everything that comes up is 2005 Disney Scrapbooking Kits which I already have! Absolutely nothing comes up for a scrapbook you can buy!  Now if anyone has a spare or can help me find a website that would be just amazing.  Thank you so much, please help me,pleaseeee!”

My Advice
My advice would be to keep an eye on good ol’ Ebay and see what comes up on there, some people buy things and then never get around to using them and they end up on ebay.  Another thing you could think about doing is just using a Disney themed album, not neccessarily a Florida one, but perhaps just a nice Mickey Mouse album would look just as nice :)

Feel free to add some more ideas of suggestions in the comments section, I’m sure it will be appreciated.

Disney Scrapbook Page Layout Help

16th January, 2009 - Posted by admin - 4 Comments

A reader asks :

Quote “I just came back from Walt Disney World and my mom wanted to make a a scrapbook !! This is not my first time, but the first time I just made one page !! So I don’t know what to do !! The lack of paper isn’t a problem, it’s just that my mom thinks that It will look better if we make “another” page on the back of the first one !!!  Is it a good idea to have one scrapbook page and try to make another on the same page?  Please …………….. NEED HELP !!! :)”

My Advice

My advice would be that there are no rules to these things, so you can do it which ever way you like, but personally I never use the back side of a page, I also use two separate pages and insert them into a pocket together.  The reason why I do this, is because should you wish to change the order of your pages in your album later, you can.  This comes in handy if you realize you left out a page or layout, and want to add it later on, you can just move the pages all over a pocket and put the extra page or layout in.  I hope this helps :)
